Helping Parents Stay Engaged in the Workforce

Access to quality child care is essential to providing a dependable workforce. PEDCO attracted grant funds to study the issues around child care and worked with three local entities to enhance the availability of several options. From larger state-licensed daycare to multiple private, in-home daycares, parents are able to meet the needs of their families and employers alike.

UNDERSTANDING THE ISSUE

In an effort to better understand the issue of child care in the Pierre/ Fort Pierre communities, the Pierre Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) and the Fort Pierre Development Corporation (FPDC) partnered to complete a local Child Care Study.
